From Great Barrington/Berkshire
region
From Route 7 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, take Route
23 West, approximately 1.6 miles to Rt. 71 West. Follow
Route 71 for approximately 8 miles, and take a left onto
22 South. Follow 22 for approximately 3 miles, to a subtle
intersection with Route 21. (There will be a blue county
road sign indicating this intersection). Go right on Route
21, and follow that for approximately 6.5 miles. (You will
pass Hawthorne Valley Farm and School in Harlemville.) After
you go through the village of Harlemville, you will take
your first right onto May Hill Road. (If you reach the Taconic
Parkway on-ramps, you have gone too far.) On May Hill Rd.
The Nature Institute is the first driveway on the right.
It is a yellow two-story house.
From Hudson, New York
Take Route 23B East from Hudson. (Later it becomes Route
23.) Exit left onto Route 217 through Claverack and Philmont,
then past the Taconic Parkway on-ramps. (Just past the Taconic
Parkway, the road name changes to Route 21C.) Approximately
3/4 mile past the Taconic Parkway, take a left onto May
Hill Road. The Nature Institute is the first driveway on
the right. It is a yellow two-story house. (If, when looking
for May Hill Rd. you get to the Hawthorne Valley Farm/School,
you have gone too far.)

From Hudson/points West
Take Route 23 East to the Taconic Parkway. Get on the parkway going north and get off at the Philmont/Harlemville exit.
Turn right off the exit ramp toward Harlemville (Route 217,
which quickly becomes Route 21C). Follow this road approximately
3/4 mile to May Hill Rd. where you take a left. On May Hill
Rd. The Nature Institute is the first driveway on the right.
It is a yellow two-story house. (If, when looking for May
Hill Rd. you get to the Hawthorne Valley Farm/School, you
have gone too far.)
From Albany
Take I-90 East, to the Taconic Parkway Exit. Get on the
Parkway going south, and travel for approximately 13 miles
to the Philmont/Harlemville exit (Route 217). Turn right
off the exit ramp toward Harlemville (Route 217, which quickly
becomes Route 21C). Follow this road approximately 3/4 mile
to May Hill Rd. where you take a left. On May Hill Rd. The
Nature Institute is the first driveway on the right. It
is a yellow two-story house. (If, when looking for May Hill
Rd. you get to the Hawthorne Valley Farm/School, you have
gone too far.)
From New York City
Take Sawmill Parkway to the Taconic Parkway. Follow the
Taconic past Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and Hudson, to the
Philmont/Harlemville exit (Route 217). Turn right off the
exit ramp toward Harlemville (Route 217, which quickly becomes
Route 21C). Follow this road approximately 3/4 mile to May
Hill Rd. where you take a left. On May Hill Rd, The Nature
Institute is the first driveway on the right. It is a yellow
two-story house. (If, when looking for May Hill Rd. you
get to the Hawthorne Valley Farm/School, you have gone too
far.)
From Boston, via Highways
Take I-90 Mass Pike West. Cross into NY, through toll, then
take the Taconic Parkway exit, following the parkway south
approximately 13 miles to the Philmont/Harlemville exit
(Route 217). Turn right off the exit ramp toward Harlemville
(Route 217, which quickly becomes Route 21C). Follow this
road approximately 3/4 mile to May Hill Rd. where you take
a left. On May Hill Rd. The Nature Institute is the first
